FOR HIRE: Jr. Graphic Designer

About Us SMPLFD Printing Co is a Detroit-based screen printing, embroidery, and graphic design shop that's been delivering quality custom apparel since 2004. We work with everyone from local artists to nationwide brands.

The Role We're looking for a Jr. Graphic Designer to join our creative team. You'll report directly to our Creative Director and touch a wide range of work — from helping pitch and sell projects to executing paid client designs to keeping production moving with clean, print-ready files. No two days are the same, and you'll learn how real merch gets made from concept to production.

This is a ground-floor opportunity at a shop with a real creative identity. If you want to sit at a corporate desk doing slide decks, this isn't for you. If you want to actually make things that end up on shirts, uniforms, and merch drops for brands people know — keep reading.

What You'll Be Doing

• Executing paid client design work — apparel graphics, logos, merch concepts — under Creative Director guidance
• Supporting sales with mockups, spec sheets, and presentation-ready visuals
• Cleaning up and prepping client-submitted artwork for production
• Assisting with light production support — mockup builds, file organization, print-ready exports
• Bonus if you know screen printing separations — we'll put that to use immediately
• Helping maintain and organize design files and asset libraries

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop - these are non-negotiable
• A portfolio that shows range: logos, apparel graphics, or brand identity work preferred
• Strong attention to detail - files need to be clean, organized, and production-ready
• Ability to take direction, execute efficiently, and handle feedback like a professional
• Self-starter mentality - you don't wait to be told what to do next
• Knowledge of screen printing, DTF, or apparel production is a plus; not required

The Details

• 24-32 hours/week to start, in-shop - based at our Detroit studio (Beaufait St.)
• Reports to Creative Director
• Pay: $20–24/hr depending on experience
