FOR HIRE: Pre-Production Assistant

SMPLFD Printing Co. is hiring a Pre-Production Assistant to join its Detroit-based production team.

Pre-Production Associate handles the pre-production process for all printing customer orders.

This involves the preparation of screens, inks, and garments to ensure seamless execution of print jobs.

Your primary responsibilities will include coating, burning (creating stencil), and reclaiming screens, as well as preparing and/or mixing inks.

You'll also be responsible for checking-in garments and organizing them efficiently for production.

Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the workspace, particularly the Dark Room, is essential to uphold the quality of our prints.

Attention to detail and precision are key traits required for this position to ensure that every step of the pre-production process is executed flawlessly.

In addition to screen processing, you'll be expected to assist in various tasks supporting overall shop operations to meet job requirements effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the organization of the darkroom and screens required for daily and weekly jobs.
• Execute screen burning process with precision and attention to detail to ensure accurate reproduction of designs.
• Reclaim screens efficiently and effectively to maintain optimal screen quality.
• Assist with inventory management and check-in process for incoming garments.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.

Job Type:

Part-time to full-time potential (20+ hours per week); shop operating hours 8am-6pm Monday-Thursday (some Fridays or weekends may be required).
